We used a 3M wheel chucked in a corded drill. The red, not gray, one, about 5" diameter. Looks like a stiff sponge about a half inch wide. Masked off the walls and glass around the windows, removed the horizontal screws, then reversed with the verticals with new stainless steel screws in the finished legs. Went at a satisfying pace and able to get 90% coverage with the tool. Left a shiny tool-grained mill finish and cleaned out the pits but didn't remove them. I like the clean look. Some deep corners needed 0000 steel wool wrapped on a putty knife. Took under two hours per window. Going to use that same tool set-up to uniformly clean up our new J-rails.

After u get the frAmes good and clean what could you use to protect the finish to keep from tarnishing

Don't know. Figured we would just buff them up with steel wool every year or so. If there is a good product to apply, I want to know about it.

I've heard people on here say that Sharkhide will protect it from oxidizing "for years"...
