No title, no sale for me sir. Sometimes it's just a matter of a misplaced title that you can retrieve with lost title paperwork submitted backed by a bill of sale but oftentimes (from what I've researched) it can be much more than that. If you knew the seller and they just couldn't "find" the title, that's one thing but from an unknown seller on CL, buyer beware. Completely sealed? That kind of slaps me in the face with a "I caulked everything that could leak".
I'm sure others will chime in but what are you after? If the answer is just a functional camper, you could probably get a pre-owned, perhaps even newer trailer, with a clean title for that money or a bit more. If you're after something truly vintage, again, for that money you could probably land something that is more collectible from the late 60s that may need a bit of work. Just my .02.
Oh, and welcome to VTT! Please, pull up a log by our fire and make yourself at home. If you go down the road of getting a vintage trailer, make sure you pull up mobiltec's trailer fix-em-up videos

No title ...
What's that mean in Michigan? You may need advice from your DMV - can you get registration/plates without a title?

A friend in Mich is currently having trouble titling his *new* trailer. NO TITLE = NO SALE.
This camper does look a bit retro. I think the price is way high for what it is:
1.Completely sealed tight: with what? roof coated? New putty? Silicone? 2. Fridge doesnt work: a replacement propane/electric unit starts at $1000. 3. No interior photos; is there evidence of water damage? Rippled paneling? 4. The new paint makes we think of a trailer that is being flipped with no real repairs, just cosmetics.
This is a PASS to me.

No Title no go. I would be nervous about the comment e-mail telephone number only if you have cash. $3K is a lot of cash to show up with unless you have someone with you who is strapped. This is a better deal...more collectible camper with a Title. Offer $2K. Have it delivered and you should still be under $3K southbend.craigslist.org/rvs/4743000317.html

I even like that trailer LOL... That's a buy even at the asking price. Barn Finds don't pop up every day ya know. Don't throw caution to the wind though. When you go to inspect it, make sure there are no signs of leakage and also make sure EVERYTHING works. Just want to keep the seller honest. If you find any problems at all, they can be used to bargain with. Nice find Bruce....

Hi,
I am in agreement with Bruce and Mobiltech. At that price it's really worth it. Before I bought my trailer, I was on Craigslist many hours a day for a few months. I saw a lot of trailers over priced but, some that appeared to be in good shape in the mid $2K range. There are a lot of double axle trailers out there in that price range - some not so good. This barn find, looks to be a good deal compared with the ads I came across. I was in the So Cal market, different from yours. So, maybe prices were different. Still, I would take that over the black beauty. Also, consider the black siding and go camping in the southwest...in the summer.
Also, if you got thumbs ups from Bruce and Mobiltech, then you got some really really good advice from very experienced "pickers".
I would imagine since we are entering the holidays, it will move slowly because people are busy now and don't have much time to look.
Run don't walk. Call the person on the barn find one and engage in conversation. Ask questions and see what you can find out about the trailer, initially. You might end up with some back story on the trailer that will help in the purchase. I prefer a history of the trailer. It's nice if you can find a trailer that had one person or family and told you how they took care of it. There is a thread on what to look for when going to look at a trailer on this forum.
This might be helpful. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/1443/list-items-when-trailer
Just my two cents.

Is that a fan over the table, or is this an AIRBOAT?
