Picked up a very good condition 245E double burner stove today. It will fit right in with the Trotwood. Now to figure out how to light it, and where I can get replacement parts for it if need be. Anyone? Thanks

I finally bought a lantern for my trailer at an antique fair. I got home and did some research. The lantern model says 200... hmmm only made in 1951.. whats going on here?? Then after a bunch of searching, found out how to date the lantern.. letters on the bottom. year to the right, month to the left. O.K. mine says 12/67... what? It has to be 1967, so how can it be a 200? I look up 200 to see what they look like 1951.. same shape, bottom is silver. Finally I come across a comment... The Coleman company kept making the 200 for Canada exactly like the 1951 model until 1969. ... OH! It's a Canadian lantern... so just thought I would share this little bit of trivia.. and a photo of my Canadian 200 model lantern. Also does anyone know if these need to be taken apart and cleaned or anything? Mine came with mantels and it feels like there may be a little fuel in there.. Will need to dump? Thanks

Not a Coleman but a Dietz #2 Blizzard with red lens! Sitting on a J.C. Higgins cooler.

Happy Early Father's Day to me! Thanks, Honey!!

Didn't know I was a collector, I have 5, most are chrome. Once you have more than 2 of anything, you have a collection and you are a collector. Be careful! Once you get to having MORE than 5 you become the Crazy Lantern person/the Crazy Stove Person. Once you get more than X number of CATS you become Vintagebruce the Crazy Cat Man...fortunately Gulfport Mississippi does not have a law regarding the number of cats you can "own", although by law you can only own 5 dogs. WE coincidently have 5 rescue dogs and X number of rescue CATS! I have the most adorable grey tuxedo cat sitting in my lap as I type this that I adopted when I went to the Gautier( Jackson Ms) Humane Society, to sponsor the cat that had been in the shelter the longest...this one had been there five months and was scheduled for "termination" soon. She is gorgeous, but "eccentric". I'm half that...eccentric...it was love at first sight. Her name is Princess Patricia.

I'm somewhat of a lantern collector too and I display them in my camper. I have a 1949 Coleman that does an incredible job illuminating. I don't specifically only collect coleman though. I have some real old dietz lanterns too. I'll try to post some pictures.

I'm guessing there are way less nice condition collectible lanterns where I live because many people just do not part with them, because they are excellent items to have in your Hurricane preparedness equipment. If you see them they are obviously in bad condition and missing parts. Stoves are usually very rusty and only good for parts salvage. Good items are not bargain priced.
