This viewer submitted their blog to post on my website in the Viewers Projects area and I thought you might want to follow along as the Horror Story unfolds on a trailer bought with a bill of sale only. Let's see how this works out... shastadeedee66.wordpress.com/

In KY you only need a bill of sale for a trailer that old. They only have registrations on small old ones. All depends on age and size if it needs a title. It's one of the few states around here that I can purchase from on Bill of Sale only, bring it back to Indiana and get a clean title. Can't buy on BOS only from Indiana or Ohio any more due to those states needing titles from sellers now. Not sure how it would work with KY resident buying from KY resident. Maybe they could find someone they trust in Indiana to buy it from them, get Indiana title, and sell it back. Friends or family? Title Service Company?
All goes back to the basics. Seller needs to have clean title in hand BEFORE putting it up for sale. Buyers need to only buy trailers from sellers who have clean title in hand. Limits the trailers available but also eliminates the shady riff raff too!

And I thought the drippy little blue stripe my PO painted on the front was bad.

That way it has dropped out of the system and then all is good. I have no idea about KY other than what you have said. We'll watch and see how this goes down. I told him not to spend too much money on it till he has the BOS but he is going through with it.
