Now THAT'S glamping in Hamlet's book! It's either in the camper or over the fire for us. (There are times I'm tempted, but when I realize it'd be one more thing to store, carry and clean, pure laziness wins out.)

I bet Husband would love that. He's the pancake man in our house. He has an ENORMOUS cast iron pan he uses at home - it's nearly two feet across and I can barely lift it with both hands, but we don't take that camping!

I also have this round grill I picked up for 3-4 dollars, its nice to throw over the grill at the campground so I dont have to try and clean their grill before use.

That's about Hamlet's speed. We have two of these always in the back of our little SUV (2009 X-3), they currently serve as the removable doors for our homemade, custom fitted, two kennel dog crate. Now we have another use for them. Thanks universalexports!

Now that's a great idea, Universal. If we have to us the campground grill, we just cover it with foil.

I saw one a while back that was built into the rear side storage compartment, you opened the door and it slid out on a rail like a drawer. neat idea. here is what I use. a Coleman Roadtrip grill, it has a foldable platform to sit it on. and all stores in a big bag with wheels.

I thought I quoted the above and replied, but apparently I just reposted the pic! SO, universal, where did you get this grill? I have a similar one, I got at Costco a few years back, but it is not as nice looking as this one. Propane?

www.amazon.com/Coleman-9931-750-Propane-Grillin-Griddle/dp/B0009PUTL6/ref=pd_sxp_f_ptI got one of these little guys a few years back on Ebay for tent camping, it works great for bacon 'n' eggs. It will boil water if you set a pan right on top of the flame spreader, but it takes quite a while. The griddle plate is non-stick, and is flat on one side and has raised ridges on the other for "grilling". It also has a drain hole at one end with a removable plastic grease cup underneath. The sides of the plate are shallow, so there's not much help in splatter containment, but it's never been a serious problem for me, especially if I help the drainage by putting a paperback under each corner of the opposite end so the grease runs down to the drain. Fits just about anywhere, it's about half the size of my camper's stove top. I've thought that the bare griddle plate would make a great two-burner frying pan on my stove, although I haven't tried it yet. Ever since I got the stove hooked back up I haven't used it much, 'cause I'm not much of a grilling freak.

Old stainless oven shelves make great grills and can usually be picked up for free.

I know this thread dates back a little ways, but I think Universal and I were separated at birth. I have that exact Road Trip, with the stand and the two grates and the burner ring for pots, and the adapter for the 20-lb tank. All I am missing is the carry bag... It is a lug for tenting out but we have used it at home as well as camping. It is just as versatile as it looks and the 20-lb tank never seems to leave you stranded in the middle of brewing the coffee...
