What you do with your vintage trailer is all dependent on needs, wants and desires. This applies to building it and using it.

OK.....you have all been very kind. I am totally getting the message that this little stove should stay put! A previous owner painted the original brown oven and icebox flat white....it's not very attractive when you get up close. I think I will have it professionally cleaned/chromed and a new coat of porcelain that will match my counter tops. Anyone out there have experience with a stove restoration? I saw elsewhere on the forum that someone recommended Mattera Stove Works in Rhode Island. A few of you have said not to cook on it. What am I risking by using it? Indipendence Porcelain is a great company with great prices. They will do the stove top for $99.00 not sure on a price for the front doors. They have gorgeous red, turquoise or any colour that goes with your trailer. They can ship back and forth. Here is the website.. Independance porcelain

For example, I have a friend with a quarter million dollar motor home who fixes a pound of bacon or sausage daily in his RV every morning. He even has a range hood with an exhaust fan that would part your hair it's so strong. You can walk into it every evening and tell if he cooked bacon, ham, steak, or sausage that morning for breakfast, I'm sure all the walls and ceiling will be deep tan in color in a few years.
By the way Super Dave, I love your movies/shows!

Just a quick update: Rec'd a quote from IPE on 3 - 7" grates for my stove (black) $63.00 a piece (3 grates $188.00), apparently the $99.00 stove top went the way of inflation.
Anyone have any other Porcelain companies on their radar?
