Hey all, My 63 Compact has factory electric brakes which are currently not hooked up as my tow vehicle, a Ford Escape with 3500 tow package, does not have the proper hook up installed. I am not planning on using the electric brakes with the Shasta only weighing 1100 pounds or so. Question, when I go to pull the hubs off to repack the bearings, will I need to disconnect the brakes from each hub ? Or do you think I can pull it all off as a unit, repack the bearings, and reinstall ? Thought it best to ask here before I mess something up !!! Thanks, Mike

Wheels bearings and electric brakes are two different things, like apples and oranges! Your going to repack the bearings exactly the same way, "with, or without brakes".
IMO, you need to actually remove the bearings from the hubs, clean, and INSPECT everything before you re-install with new grease seals. Many of my friends just pack some more grease inside the hub without cleaning and inspecting.
This is the way "Mr. Kanoodle" taught me fifty years ago, in auto shop class.
