I just bought a 1972 Go-Lite in August and have been able to find out little about it or find anyone with a model like it. I'm happy to find this thread of Go-Lite owners. The water & gas had been removed by a previous owner, and it's just been newly wired (both trailer lights & interior wiring). I recovered the cushions & sewed curtains, & we enjoyed some camping yet this season. Next spring I'm installing new flooring and tackling the exterior. The most unique feature of my Go-Lite is the door in the back. Has anyone seen a model like this?

Welcome Jenilou. I haven't seen a Go Lite with a rear door. Maybe some of our members will chime in...

Scotty and Shasta were the lower priced trailers back in a day so many more of them were sold. Plus they both were marketed well. And they both had wings...

I bought a 1963 go lite about 6 years ago. It's the 14 ft model. I've done a lot of cosmetic work on it. I may be able to answer SOME questions. I'll post pictures as soon as I figure it out.

I’m looking at one. Made my offer. They need to find that title. I’m trying to figure out what year it is. And I’m curious about weight. Are these heavier due to the 3/4 walls? Also, how do I post photos on here?

Welcome!
I suggest starting a new thread with your photos.
3/4" walls usually makes it a lighter camper. Heavier campers have 1 1/2" walls and weigh around 40% more.

Hi,
I am looking at a 14ft (including tongue) 1968 Go-Lite and am wondering about the weight. Need to tow it with a Mazda CX-9 with a towing weight capacity of 3500 lbs. Is there any way to find the specs on a 1968 Go-Lite? The decal on the side says Boise Idaho and Fremont,Nebraska. There's a decal of a bear on it, but that could have been added later. Just trying to find out more about this model. Appreciate any info. Thanks.

I too, have a go-lite trailer. 1965 13 ft. My parents bought it new in Boise, ID in that year and I have many wonderful childhood memories camping with my family. It unfortunately has sat in the elements for many years and has a few issues. I don't really know what I am doing, as far as restoring and repairing, but am looking forward to learning. So glad I found this forum on Go-lites, as I have found very little information on these trailers. Will try to post some pics. Any advice is welcome! 0409171405 by , on Flickr

I have a 1965 Go-Lite trailer that was my dad's and has been sitting on his farm property since 1986, and not used since at least 2006. It has water damage on the back rear corners and also on the roof around the vent and on 2 of the corners where the roof and sides meet.
Any advice on the best way to repair the roof damage? Best to take the roof skin off, or fix from the inside? Any suggestions and pictures of repairs made by others would be greatly appreciated!

The best way to repair your trailer is to remove the skins and either float or remove the roof. There is more damage than you think and getting the skins out of the way will make repairs much easier.
One thing on the roof vent-be sure to use a riser on the vent frame to get the vent higher than the surrounding roof.
There are many threads showing framing repairs. Scroll thru the board and you will see them. Our restoration section would be a good place to start.
