Finally took the time to figure out how to post pics. As you can see I have had to quite a bit of work so far. The skin is back on and I have been working on stripping paint off and on for the past few days. Im still having trouble finding the vin. I have been working on the assumption that its a 1964ish but the ones I have seen have a wheel well cut out and this one does not. I found the remains of a tag that said herzig manufacturing. I know that narrows the dates a bit, however I am getting frustrated about not finding a vin.

The VIN should be on that metal plate on the curb side of the tongue that you found. Now go after that down to metal with paint stripper. If you still can't see it get the wire brush out. If you still can't see it I would have to think that someone removed it for some strange reason.

Okay, this is what I have found on the tongue today. The welded spot is a bit alarming. The number on the hitch doesn't look like a vin. any suggestions?

The number on the hitch is not it. Must be at least 5 digits and either welded on the frame itself or embedded into it. The welded spot is the VIN plate. Get out the wire wheel brush. If you can't see it then you will have to ask the DMV to just issue a new one to it. They will most likely want to inspect it themselves. Not sure about your state requirements.

That number could be a previously issued state number.

Used a wire wheel until it shined. No vin plate. I don't know how to research the other number to see if it's a state issued number. Looks like I will have to contact the DMV to find out what to do next. Unless anyone has a better idea?

3 coats of green and 3 cream. Starting to look like something. Once I get the outside buttoned up I will get started on interior. What are thoughts on going back with birch vs painted cabinetry? I have some left over flooring I plan to use. It's a distressed redish brown oak.

I like birch better than painted anytime. Very nice glow with shellac...

Here's my little '66 Go-Lite. Picked it up last summer in Boise, Idaho, and it's nearly all original except for the roof vent and vinyl flooring. I put in a fresh water tank, which was missing. I'm new at this vintage trailer camping, and loving it! Juniper, I also have a 1966 GoLite. The layout is slightly different which is interesting, but I'm happy to confirm that the back cushion is original fabric. In my case, it was disintegrating so it had to go. Like you, I haven't been able to find too many others.

Birch! And if you harvest it yourself, you can use the bark to make a tea that will help soothe the pain from the sore muscles you'll get making all that paneling!

I have recently purchased an old go lite trailer that looks like the picture of trailer in tow. It too has the boise idaho golite decals and number stamped in tongue beginning with 15. This number is also stamped into a plate attached to exterior of trailer. I have no information on this other then its a golite. I learned it was last titled in idaho in 95. Ive since been too busy to contact dmv. I would appreciate any info anyone might have on these. (Also purchased another small vintage trailer ive not found any info on yet. Will share pic if anyone good at guessing make that way). Thanks for your time.

I think the number on the A frame coupler might be the VIN because it starts with "15". My 56 Aljo was that way. Not many are stamped on the coupler, just a few.
