Hi All,
I feel silly when I ask a question and find that the answer is in a post on the forum somewhere. I keep trying to use the search feature, but I don't get good results. Really good information is embedded in threads like "what did you do to your trailer today." I'm sure members must get annoyed by answering the same questions over and over again, but finding the info is eluding me. Any tips to finding info. would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Cheri

The search feature here is not the best, (I wish you could limit a search to a specific area of the board) my suggestion is try to use odd words that arent that common but are relevant to your search,
I usually just go to the area that pertains to my question, and go through the threads a page at a time. if all else fails post up a topic and ask a question.

Use google to search only this site. Say for example you want to search about awnings, type this into the google search: awning site:vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net (or copy paste that and change the word awning to water tank or whatever you are searching for). HTH

Yes, I was just going to post the same question. I tried typing in Land Commander and it came up with nothing. Then I typed in Shasta and got only three hits.
I will use google to search.
Cheers

I have never had a problem with the forums search function. Going to the Search page from the top menu and typing the search words in the "with all the words" field works great. It's true that using Google does work, but so does the forums. Either way, as long as everyone can find what they're looking for.

Without getting too technical, only certain words go into the search engine. I have a problem searching for some specific threads such as "What did you do to your trailer today," too.
PLEASE title your threads with specific words such as FLOORING, INSULATION, etc. Then the subject can be found by typing the subject word into the box with "thread titles." I too, find the "with all the words" effective, but it doesn't always find the title of a thread.
Catchy, cute titles get our attention but then the info contained in them is sometimes hard to retrieve.
Put the year and make of your trailer in the thread title, also, so others can find info about specific trailers.
