First I have to tell you that I live on a dairy farm, so I don't get grossed out easily but.... I have been avoiding the toilet issue, but decided that I would add a surface mount receptacle in what will most likely be used as closet space. So, I worked up my courage to remove the toilet. Now, all you old pros know what is coming, but somehow I was hoping for the best. This is the kind of toilet with a trap that opens into a small tank. Not only is the tank full, but there is a pile that reaches up where the bottom of the toilet was. Luckily it is dry. I don't want to add another major task to my list as I need to use the camper July 21st. Is pulling the tank difficult? If so, I am going to get some pvc plugs, seal it up and deal with it later. As it is dry, I assume I can plug both the vent and toilet holes.

Crises averted I screwed on my courage and pulled up the floor and turns out the pile at the base of the toilet was the only thing in it, and it lifted right up. It is fiberglass and looks like it is in good condition. I may stick it up on a shelf in the barn. If I ever decide to sell the trailer, I may put a toilet back in. I did on cover some very retro gold paisley wall paper. I'm glad I'm not doing a restoration as that stuff is too much for me.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond soon enough. That pile is what happens when someone hooks to campground sewage pipe and opens the tank and leaves it open until they leave the campground. The tank is designed to keep closed till full with chemical in it. Then once full then open to drain, flush, then close and fill with chemical again until full.

I have to go tell every single person who moves into this RV park with a new trailer to do that. No one reads the owners manual and the dealers are terrible at teaching the new owners how everything works. They should be ashamed of themselves what with all the money they make and they do make a heck of a lot of money.
