I have no idea where I'm going, but it's where I need to be.

Any way to ensure bugs stay out? I had an infestation of carpenter ants (I think 2 colonies, but may have just been one) and I bombed the trailer, after taking anything upholstry esque out, to kill everything and vacuumed the crud out of it- I sprayed some home defense stuff around any windows/ seams (indoor and out)- is there any thing else I could do? I've been filling in just about every gap with foam stuff and mending holes in the floor with aluminium pieces and silicone sealant, but I really hate bugs. Some one said 'there's no way to keep all bugs out'- but I sure as heck intend to find away. I was thinking of putting little plates of ditamaceous earth (spelling!) under cabinets and stuff for when I'm not using the trailer.
Another thing is storage-- I had intended on keeping my camping gear stored in it my camper year round, but am now concerned with tiny ants getting in every nook and cranny.. I wasn't originally too concerned, but after the carpenter ant fiasco, I'm a little mortified- I know it's a freak thing, but ick.. bugs.
And I inspected everything pretty well, it doesn't seem like they feasted on the wood to make it unstable. It actaully all seemed really well intact. I'm glad it was just ants and not spiders or cockaroaches..
Also, I know a lot of people are against bombing little campers- but so far as my little southern heart is concerend, that's the only way to ensure everything dies-- is there another way that doesn't require me to air out my trailer for seven hours to get the smell to go away?

When I first got my trailer, I had my pest control guy spray the inside & out thoroughly. I then I told him that when he shows for monthly maintenance, to make sure to spray around and underneath. I'd pay extra if I had to, but luckily it's included in the monthly fee. So worth it!

That's an interesting idea! I'll have the cooks guy do that next time he comes around, thanks!
