My sweet little Shasta compact came with a nice awning of heavy duty canvas. Needless to say when I went cMping last week it rained off and on every day. The awning of course dripped in the middle...
I'm sure I can't make it water tight like a new vinyl awning mainly because of the weave but I'd like to increase the water resistance to prevent some of the drip. That way I can put it up at a steeper angle and hopefully most of the water will schlep off at the outside rim.
anyone found a product they prefer for waterproofing plain canvas?

I haven't waterproofed any canvas for years but used to buy stuff at sears that worked fantastic. My daughter tells me that they sell stuff to waterproof canvas shoes and rain gear now that she buys at a sporting goods store but she doesn't remember the name. She also tells me she has used 5 or 6 brands that all worked very well.

I think it's silicone spray. I've used it on shoes and it really works...
There's quite a few canvas waterproofing products, some sold by the gallon.

Walmart sells it both in spray and by the gallon. Some are for nylon tents some for canvas.

Another solution would be to get the awning to have a high spot in the middle. Could be done with shock-corded tent poles placed corner to corner.
