So, I looked on the registration and the number I found on the top of the frame in the area where the VN is not supposed to be is indeed the vehicle number on the registration. Here is "the rest of the story". When we bought this trailer it was advertised as a 14 ft Vanbrook. Well it is actually 17ft long and when I went to register the trailer at the Sec. of State, the lady said that the title wasn't for a "coach" just a regular trailer. So, I went home and tried to find info on Vanbrooks. I found nothing, but I did find pictures of Wildcats and brochures that look almost identical to my trailer. I decided that the title must not actually belong to the trailer. Now, I know that the title does belong to this trailer, and it is a Vanbrook. I did find a reference to Vanbrook travel trailers for sale in the want ads of an illinois newspaper from 1967, so I know there was a company. This is sort of bitter sweet. I now know what the camper is, but I feel so... alone. It was kind of fun to think of her as a Wildcat. Is there anyone out there with any info on Vanbrook travel trailers. Cheri, Our campers appear to be identical, so I am bewildered. Mine has a faded decal over the front windows that says "Wildcat". Are there any decals on yours? I also wire brushed the tongue and found a VIN number on the right side (passenger side). Where did you find yours located?

Pam,
Isn't that crazy? The VIN was on top along side the jack. It looks like I most have a copy of the Wildcat. Even the frame looks like the Wildcat brochure. I have found absolutely no identifying marks at all, but there are extra screw holes and the whole kitchen area was hacked up, so who knows what happened to any tags. The previous owners painted white over the whole camper, but the gold stripe was painted black when they got it.
How is your camper coming along?

I've got flooring issues that have required more than a "here and there" repair. I have jacked up the walls on one side and ripped out a 4' x 8' section of the subfloor. I've purchased the recommended marine grade plywood and will install the new subfloor over the weekend. A more experienced person would have recognized this as a total rebuild candidate or just passed it up. But, I'm learning as I'm going and becoming quite skilled with Bondo:) Wisconsin weather has been my biggest problem. I thought Wildcats were difficult to discover info on but Vanbrooks are almost non existent.
