Going to drop off the old cushions and have new made. We bought all the material, cushions arrive today at the upholsterers cut to size. The back Gaucho Bed cushions are 90"x 24 for bench and the same for the back but folds. all new dinette bench seats and backs. The foam is medium density foam (17 Year) 5 inch thick. All said and done:
Material 40 yards 120.00 Cushion Material 350.00 Labor 300.00
So for a total $770.00
Just wondering is that a reasonable price? Like to know... if too much I will attempt to do it my self. Be an other adventure in camper fun... Thanks H

40 yards of material? That is way too much for a camper.. Is that a mistype?
The front dinette should take 5 yards.. Maximum 6. The back should take about a maximum of 8 yards. I ran an upholstery shop for years, so I know my sizes. That being said..$120.00 is reasonable for the fabric, whatever size it is. The labour is fine, and the foam is the right price too.

I, too, tried to figure 40 yard of fabric. The ONLY way I can figure it is if it's 48" wide with a very long repeat (say 20"), then the muslin for wrapping the cushions with poly batting. But that comes to $3 a yard. I can't think of anything that's $3 a yard.
That being said, I think that any time you can get all new cushions for dinette benches, gaucho, etc, you're doing pretty well. Can't wait to see pictures!

I wish I could but cannot afford to spend that on cushion's so I will try to make my own. I've noticed that many who attempt this often have loose fitting covers. I've seen some of your comments on adding batting, but a full tutorial with "hints" at critical steps would be very much appreciated by those of us who have no choice but attempt this ourselves. I have moderate sewing experience, although I've never done well at attaching piping and my cushions always end up loose ( I say always, I've only made a few and they were for fun).

I have moderate sewing experience, although I've never done well at attaching piping and my cushions always end up loose ( I say always, I've only made a few and they were for fun). I am planning to do a video tutorial on both my cushions and drapes, when I do them, as I would like to share some techniques that can be done with a home sewing machine, such as piped cushions and simple button tufting, plus I will show you how to do a couple of different styles of drapes for the windows, and where to get the type of lining that they use in hotel drapes to control heat loss. As well, I know how to make a specific type of "curtain" that looks fabulous on tilted front windows, but I haven't seen anyone make them for their camper. The only issue is that I am just selling my house and will be moving over the next couple of months and I won't be starting my interior projects till then. So if you are wanting to make them for this summer, it would be best to dive in and just post a bunch of questions for me to answer. If you can wait until after the summer, then you will get to see the full lessons..

One thing about the cushions: my seamstress uses a shrink wrap machine before inserting the foam (wrapped in poly to PLUMP). Everything fills the upholstery firmly with no wrinkles.

You can buy the silk wrap and use a vacuum cleaner hose to shrink it. If it works with household items, I'll let you know Here's a link to the silk wrap and a video at the bottom of the page: www.sailrite.com/Cushion-Wrap-Silk-Film-Center-Fold-54#.U3xWtbSuHzM

Not a mistype... We could not resist the price. Discontinued pattern which we looked so we bought 2 bolts... We should have the fusions back by end of next week, We hope. will post pics when we do.
