Hey Moonshiner,
Looks like you an early 1960's Airflyte? Do you know what the prefix letter is in the Vin# or what manufacturing plant is stated on the green plate beside the entry door? Once I know where it was produced and can be more precise.
Thanks!

Ross, The is no label at the door. I have seached every crack and cranny looking for something for identification and all I have found was the numbers Igiven you allready. Measures is 17'2 long and 7'0 wide (tounge to rear bumper). Body is 15'0" long (end to end) Has mobile home tires 14 1/2", Floor plan is not like the twenty. Has booths at each end that make into a full size bed with bunks at top on both ends. On drivers side has shower, closet, fridge. On passenger side has single sink w/faucet on side and stove is 3 burner from Santa Fe, Ca. Has a side storage box and a rear storage box outside, hot water heater beside the door. No clearance lights just marker lights and taillights. I can send you some pics if you want but inside I have gutted except kitchen and shower.

I believe that you have an Airflyte, based on the sizes you have given. The reason I mention Shasta Twenty, is because that was the model that was being produced during the same prefix letters in the vin#, just as yours.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the wooden screen doors were used in 1960 or 1961. But based on the numbers only, of the vin#, it is coming up as an early 60's Shasta....possible manufactured on 2 or 3 locations. That's why the prefix letter or the manufacture's plate is so very important to dating this little gems.
Please keep me posted of you finds, when you head back to the bone yard.

Thanks Ray. Your Compact was born in 1967. Could have been built in 1966, but not sold until 1967.
Hope this helps.

Found this Shasta in the family bone yard, Ross I found a plate attached to the frame with some numbers can you tell me a year maybe?? 12342 Is, the stamped number I found on the frame. o Wish I had a family bone yard...with one of them Shastas in it! The push-out style Hehr windows in the front and on the sides in the rear (over the bed) were replaced in the 1960 model year with the jalousie style windows in those locations. Not sure where you are locating the numbers but the VIN should be stamped outside of the hitch frame on the curbside, and there should be a plate also, inside the streetside rail.

@ tim If you can post some photos up here it would help greatly. I am of the belief it would not be an Airflyte, as those were all built with no bathroom throughout their history. My wild guess only from what you have described is that it is a Starflyte model, or it may be a 18' Super. ( I am just guessing here without referring to the brochures at all. ) Would love to see it some more, even gutted.

When you stated the body was only 15 feet and total length being 17' 2", this is why I said an Airflyte. Looks like you will have some fun on your hands restoring this little beauty. Good luck!

Just picked up a Shasta Deluxe 19ft (I think), the vin is V7189. Supposed to be from 1961. I need to figure out the weight to register it here. (I can measure for the dimensions)
