Hi all. I’m new at this. Just purchased a Shasta vin number S1987. Previous owner says she’s a 1957. Not sure about this. I’m new on here and not sure how to post pics. She’s a barn find so there’s no pink slip. Any input would be appreciated

She’s a barn find so there’s no pink slip. Any input would be appreciated According to the Database your camper was built in 1966 at the Columbia SC plant. The plant began production in 1966 so the camper can't be a 1957 if the vin is correct. Can you post photos? You’ll find tutorials showing how to link photos to your post here: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/7276/add-photos-hosted-flickr-tutorial

New guy here and could use some info. I bought a shasta stratoflyte the other day and I've lost the title!! I think I found the vin under about 9 layers of paint but there is a bunch of letters and numbers. First set I think are S34583 and then a second set that I think read PA9256. Any help would be great thanks.

All the rest are P followed by the number. Assuming it is the P run, it would be a 1968. Can you post a photo of the camper?

So I found the vin tag on the tongue as well today. I called the DMV and they confirmed it came back to a 74. The vin is 34583. The one on the side of the hitch is S34583 and there is the PA number a couple inches from that.

Odd, you have a vin that doesn't fit anywhere in the database. A first. Sorry we can't be more help.

Hi, we just bought what we believe is a 1962 Shasta Astrodome. The title has the correct VIN# but states 1965 as the year. The VIN is V-11283 and here is a link to pictures of the inside and outside of the camper: photos.app.goo.gl/t3WdjeRyFvqowHRT9 Thank you!

I can't see your link but you are correct, your Shasta was built in 1962 at the Goshen, Indiana plant.

Hello. I have been remodeling what I was told was a 1950 something Shasta. However, I believe it looks like a 1965 Shasta 1500. The VIN Numbers are GS 24048 with another number on the tow tongue next to it of PA 3928. Here is a picture I found on the internet that most closeley resembles mine before I took it down to the frame. Thank you in advance! shasta by Carl Culver, on Flickr
