For anyone in the Kansas area: The Pomona State Park in Kansas is preparing to celebrate their 50th Anniversary and are planning a vintage car rally and are wanting to get some vintage campers together in the park along the tour route. They are willing to provide each of us with a free night of camping (either Friday or Saturday) as well as lunch on Saturday. The only thing they really ask is that we open our campers up on Saturday from 1-3 (ish) to allow the public an opportunity to tour/look at our campers. The tour is scheduled for July 12th. We are planning to stay both Friday and Saturday. Please let me know if you are interested. If so, can you provide me with an email addy so I can forward the paperwork we received from the organizers. Thanks, Sandi

Hi from Angieoakleaf ! I wondered , even though you may not have posted recently, where are your favorite places here in Kansas. Just curious and new at this site. Thank you.

Highly recommend Cimarron National Grassland. We were there in late Fall, there was a small wetland at the campground, thousands of migrating Redwing Blackbirds making so much noise we thought about leaving. Once the sun went down it became silent, we were the only people there and it was magical. You drive through miles of flatland that looks like nothing special, then turn off on to a dirt road and end up in this fabulous little oasis.
There are countless little places like this across the country that most folks will never see. Hit the road and go camping my friends!

We've driven from Minnesota to Oklahoma a few times and go right through the Flint Hills on the eastern edge of Kansas. Incredibly scenic - looks like it would be an awesome place to camp out.

Yes ! The Flinthills , just two short hours from here are remarkable! We will definitely put this on our top 3 list best Kansas camp outs. If you're lucky enough in April, view the burning hills, smell the distant smoke and enjoy ! Thank you for the tip on Cimmeron Grasslands in our S/W corner. Sounds like a place close to my heart.....outdoors!
