Newly divorced and needed a project to keep me busy! Not sure I have ever taken on anything like this or if I even know how. Just purchased my first camper...1968 Shasta loflyte. Bought it for 600 bucks...not sure if this a deal or not. Virtually no water damage ( maybe slight around ledge under windows where condensation got to it )It is in great shape. all original inside. Some damages to paneling, but very little. I will post as as i go along. Fixing her up and ready to hit the road!

Congratulations on the Loflyte and the Divorce.. Your 68 is so similar to our 71.. I guess good things just got tweaked a little bit and they kept them rolling. That’s a big refer unit. How ya gonna get it in? Will it fit through the door? It looks huge. .............. to site. Great Pics!

I hope you don't have to remove the door frame to get it inside! Although, that would be a perfect opportunity to get some new putty tape seal around the frame...
A minor point...you mentioned painting the white. These were not originally white, if that makes any difference to you. When you remove the "Shasta" emblem and the taillight bases to paint, you will likely find it was an almond color. I found this with my '64, and also with a '71 that I parted some things from. It is a readily-available color...the same as Rustoleum Almond in the rattle-can. Rustoleum also makes a color that brings out the gold-stripe parts as well. They have a shiny gold that shines it up quite a lot, or I preferred the look of the "hammered" texture paint in the gold...it seemed to match the original (which was not originally paint by the way but rather anodized aluminum in that gold color...), without looking too gaudy. Just my tastes though...for what it is worth.
