I figured I would start a thread showing the fix up of our little Shasta. We have already learned a lot by looking over the forms and look forward in sharing the progress as we go along.

I have a 1968 1500 as well. We started our restore back in November. We ended up taking it all the way down to the frame. I have a thread that has documented the progress thus far. It's been SLOW going. I can't wait to see what you do with yours!

We did not anticipate taking ours down that far either! When we started digging in, we quickly realized all of the studs were rotted and not even connected together anymore. I am surprised she did not fall apart last year when we took a 6,200 mile road trip. I think we are overbuilding, though.

It was a great trip. We had all intention of doing another one this summer. We figured if we started with the rebuild in November we would be done in time for departure this June ....boy, were we wrong! I had no idea we would take this long but in all fairness, we are only able to work on it on weekends.

You got her going on brother.. Are you going to try to start at the skirt board, replace/repair and slavage the side framng in place? And the rot at the roof lines' edge, is that only at the door hearder? I skipped to your big bucket, peeped and saw a little more of your demo.

You've got your hands full! I'm glad you still at least had the insulation. Either mine never had it or it rotted away with all the wood frame! Beautiful Dane, btw. I had mine for 9.5 years and he was always trying to go where he wouldn't fit also!
