![]() Hi my name is Niki. I had a bright idea not too long ago and wow, I am not sure I knew what I was getting myself into. I happen to see a vintage trailer for sale on a storage lot and decided to buy it. My husband and I have restored classic cars for about the last 30 years and we have some experience at what it takes to re-create a classic but hmmm this is a real head scratcher. Where to start?  ?? If you watch the you tube videos you will have an excellent idea of the unique trailer I have. It certainly is a one of a kind trailer. You may very well have seen these videos at some time in your life. Now that I have bought it, I want to either restore it or sell it. Not sure until I get into the de-struction of it how much work I am in for. The trailer appears to have had some of it's life in a barn, as it is not as bad as it could be for the year it is. But it still needs a complete restoration to be the strange invention it was meant to be. Is anyone out there familiar with this trailer? I've seen the video with the VW before - that's one crazy cool trailer!
How did you get it home?

LOL No the car did NOT come with it, neither did the hitch that goes on the car.
The last owner has attached a standard 5th wheel hitch on it to be able to pull it. And until we get it restored we would leave that on it just for the maneuverability. The standard equip. trailer hitch (attached to the trailer) is still intact We have NO IDEA what we are going to do, we think it would be a great car show attraction. We would have to have the car top hitch professionally made. We have the schematics for that.

That is so cool. I'm wondering too, do have the fifth wheel hitch for your vehicle? and  . Please share some pictures of your actual camper with us. I can't wait to see it!!! |

It has had a standard 5th wheel hitch bolted on the frame of the trailer. The original equip roof top hitch is still intact.

Shadow is still in business I think, don't know if they will talk about that model or not but that may be the place to try. I remember them when they were new and I don't think they sold a lot of them, not sure.
