I just saw this on a facebook group, a company Near Chattanooga Tennessee. 423-802-9804 makes and sells aluminum skin. They sell a 8x14 foot piece with 6" bends for approximately $375

Yike's!
Hanging an 8 foot by 14 foot "single piece" would require the whole neighborhood for help.
It would be like a barn raising! LOL

That's the guy that is making retro *new* Shasta Compacts. I'm worried about shipping. The skin intrigues me. Any more info??

His roof looks flat, no bends on that pink thing, I mean trailer roof. I saw this on fb, too. And I drive through Chat. quite often so someone give it a try it and report back :-)

The roof, back and upper front (to bottom window ledge) is flat on many early models.

The middle section of mine is flat but has the bends in the curved sections that come down to the window.

Yep that's a big piece of metal to hang. I wonder how they compare to www.hemetvalleyrv.net/ ? Not as many patterns, maybe? $375 and on the east coast seems like a good price. Hardly worth doing body work.

both are too far away for me, Does anyone know about a place that sells old style Shasta skin metal in the Elkhart country IN area, I just need to replace the white lower back skin on my '76 class3 below the color band. It looks like someone let a trailer tongue punch and tear the metal dead center about 10" above the rear bumper. There is probably a gazillion sheet metal supply places, but I'm not sure where to look or what pattern/color to look for.

It looks like someone let a trailer tongue punch and tear the metal dead center about 10" above the rear bumper. There is probably a gazillion sheet metal supply places, but I'm not sure where to look or what pattern/color to look for. The lower back, and the lower front panels are very easy to replicate. They do not have any "S-Lock" seams, just flat metal with the brake pattern to match your trailer skin.
You can buy the metal at any metal supply store. I'd suggest .032", in soft 3000 series hardness. Have them shear it to your desired width, the "actual trailer width, plus an extra three inches per side". All you need to do is find someone with an eight to twelve foot wide sheet metal brake in your area to do the brake pattern. Take a sample for them to replicate. It will only take five minutes to do the pattern on a brake. A "case of beer" at any air conditioning sheet metal shop should cover it.
It's much better to have this kind of thing fab'd "in your local area" when ever possible, to save the damage caused by shipping and the high cost of delivery.
If you find an RV metal company in your area, they can supply the metal, shear it to your size, and do the pattern all at the same time.
Good luck

Those huge sheets seem like a nightmare to me... We just went thru hanging the upper 4' x 14' sides. A major pain not to damage them. I'm dreading the 3'x 14' lower street side. Tomorrow.
