Thanks, gfgirl and ladywendolyn! I've got a wish list a yard long at vintage trailer supply, but have been lost looking at the exterior lights. My frustration has been trying to figure out exactly what was supposed to be there, so I could look for decent replacements. The modern lights in place right now have about half the footprint and a different shape, and the old screw holes haven't been filled or protected (yet). Now that I've seen your tail lights, gfgirl, I can add the ones on VTS to that wish list.... I know it may take a while to find clearance and signal lights that will be a good match, and what's there works fine, but I figure get going now, and I can run the search in the background, so to speak.... Any thoughts on converting to LEDs?

Thanks a bunch Lady Wedolyn for the photo of the chrome badge! I didn't even know they had one.........mine must be missing. Love it eventually when all the practical stuff is taken care of I'll have to look into getting one done. Where is it situated on your trailer?
Reddog... LEDs are just one more thing in a long list of things I know nothing about!!!! I figure somewhere along the line I'll look into it...but I'm not a huge fan of them on classic cars so.....

I don't use led lights except one. I am installing a single LED vintage look chrome dome light in the centre ceiling of our trailer. There is a cheap plastic one there now. The only reason for the single led build is that we would use that light if we were boon docking (no power) camping and it would run off our car battery. We are not using a power converter in this trailer, just the hook up to our car battery for the one light, and we may carry an extra deep cell battery for that too. You can buy LED lights if you like the fixture, and strip them out and convert to old style guts. There is a porch light idea I am looking at thats actually a semi tailer cab running light, that looks really cool and art deco vintage, however it has an LED bulb. It is a good price at $30.00, but I will need to redo the guts.. Here is a list of what I am replacing on my Glendale trailer. I have already hunted down original fixtures for all of this, so if you see something that you need a link source for, let me know....
-Exterior Tail lights.. replacing with vintage wedding cake lights, but there are other cool ones out there. -Exterior running lights... replacing with vintage bee hive, and 2.5 rounds with 4" vintage look beauty rings as mentioned above. -Exterior wings.. custom making 3 dimensional wings based on Glendale logo... if I fail, Tyler is the man who can do it. -Exterior water inlet... hunted down a vintage one, ... very expensive, they don't make metal ones any more.. -Exterior tires... there is a place that sells new fat white wall replacements for vintage trailers. -Exterior baby moon hub caps... there is a place that sells these -Exterior Glendale metal logo... there is a place that reproduces there.. -Exterior Glendale bird or Falcon decal... local sign company can reproduce for you, or there is a guy online. -Plus, I am installing a hidden air conditioner that needs a cargo door on the side to pull out of when parked.. VTT parts sells the door
-Interior -Wooden "G" magazine rack... a family on the site here makes them custom, look in the parts for sale thread. -All interior light fixtures.. 1950's sconces for front, 1960's cone/bullet lights for rear, humphry gas light.. all from ebay. -Interior stove and sink.. new colour.. ebay, or have it re-sprayed by a professional place -new laminate... a place called "A moment in Time" sells vintage pattern laminates -new hardware and cabinet catches.. a place called Van Dykes Hardware sells beautiful Chrome cupboard latches, -new flooring,.. you can order the vintage tiles in colour fromArmstrong at home depot, cut them down to 9" each -The rest of the stuff is just personal preference, vintage appliances, decorations etc. HAVE FUN!!

Thanks once again Lady Wendolyn! You are a wealth of information.
We definitely seem on the same page with a bunch of stuff. I just tracked down two vintage bullet sconces for the rear, took them apart, changed the colour and rewired them. I'm fabricating two sconces for the front, similar to a pair I saw on ebay. The same lighting place had some vintage perforated metal, I'll make an armature to hold this, the sockets and mount to the wall. The heat shield is missing from my Humphry so once I make that (using photo reference) it's good to go. All laminate will be replaced with a vintage look Arborite my local hardware store will order for me. Teal Armstrong tile for the floor. Cabinet hardware yet to be decided...thanks for the heads up on Van Dykes... I'll look there today!

I noticed in your photos that the stove is missing the rings.. are they in a drawer, or do you need to buy them? Also what colours are you using inside?

The stove rings were in the cupboard luckily! As for the interior colour scheme I'm going for a subtle vintage look. The cupboards are pretty good I'll just sand and amber shellac them. The paneling is the basement rec room stuff. I'm not too fond of it and most of it is water damaged. I'm pulling it all down and putting up birch ply then amber shellac. I've got dogs so the upholstery needs to be durable and cleanable. Making new covers out of marine grade vinyl in a kind of robins egg blue, leaning a little more toward greenish than aqua, with buckskin coloured welt. New countertop etc...... Arborite "Sun Washed Hemp" a yellowish colour with a crosshatch pattern. Curtains.....I found some awesome vintage fabric in a close out sale on line for $2.00 a yard! So I bought all of it. It's a pale brown cross hatch over a tan background with scattered bird of paradise flowers in yellows, dark greens and the same greenish blue as the cushion covers. Floor Armstrong "Teal" from their classics collection it's a little lighter than the colour of the cushions.
So overall colour scheme, bluish green, tan, yellow!

That sounds lovely!
We have the exact same laminate, but I'm gonna keep mine 'cus it's all in great condition. Totally on your page about the basement rec room panelling! I don't think I could keep it as is even if it was mint....
Don't know about yours, but my floor is a white pebblestone sort of sheet vinyl with gold flecks, the metal edge banding on all the laminate is gold tone, and the laminate panelling in the 'bathroom' has gold star bursts.... They were taking golden falcon seriously!

Hahaha reddog, so much golden....everywhere! Even the trim around the roof vent!
I wish I could keep the laminate, most of the surface has come off the highly used areas and the sparkles are coming off. As recently as 10 years ago you could still get this laminate but I've looked and looked, not anymore. Yep my floor is the same..it's gotta go...too many crevices in the texture to hold dirt. Also it's pretty beat. The starburst laminate sound cool!

OK, so that wasn't just corrosion.... Mine was so rusted out I wasn't sure... Glad I kept it - maybe I can salvage it.
Same with all the cupboard latches. I think they used to be golden, and are now badly worn, and rusted as well.

Wow, gfgirl. You have a very nice trailer. I'm getting dizzy just from reading about replacement lenses, decals, casting new lights etc. It's giving me ideas for my trailer now. I know a few local graphics people so I will have to hit them up to see if they can reproduce the bird for me and "The Golden Falcon" black and white decals. I have past experience with mold making but I'm not sure what to use for casting. One of my rear triangle tailights is busted but repaired. I could make a mold with the good one and cast it. Must look that up. I have the magazine rack but never looked at it because I thought it was an add on by the PO. So much to learn now. I think I might be infected now.......now I want to know what the original marker lights on my trailer looked like......yup....bitten and infected.

Yep, the disease seems highly contagious racerx and the progression of infection happens quickly! Hahaha So casting new lenses......Sculpture Supply Canada (you can find them online) has everything you'll need. My humble suggestions are... for the mold, an RTV platinum silicone, Mold Star 30 is good, mixes 1:1 so it's easy to use, strong and holds up well. For the casting......Epoxacast 690, it's a clear tintable UV resistant resin. You'll also need mould release and tint to make the resin red. I did a quick YouTube search Sculpture Supply have some pretty good video tutorials on 2 part mould making in case you want a refresher. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info, gfgirl. There is a plastics and moulding shop that should sell the items you mentioned. It's where we used to go for or silicone mould making materials. I believe they carry a line or two of resins as well. I'll check for those by name.

gfgirl.. Do you have the link for the place where you bought the parts and sheet of metal for making your lights? Most of the bits came from an antique lighting place called Colonial Lamp Restoration near me. He just let me go poke around up stairs in what he refers to as...all the junk. Hahahah...he primarily restores much older fixtures so the mid century stuff isn't so valuable to him. I believe Metal Supermarket , on line, sells the perforated steel, but I think as in most things you have to buy a full sheet.

If they don't have the products I mentioned I'm sure they'll steer you in the right direction. Let me know how it turns out.
