Hi Everyone, Figured I better stand up and be counted. I live in the desert, outside of Palm Springs, CA. I have two 1966 Shasta Supers, one is 18 feet and the other is 19 feet with the trunk. I am busy buying up all of my materials for the refurbishing of the 18 footer. I want to have it all planned out (as much as possible) before I dig into ripping things out.
We were using the 18 footer for camping until I got worried that he just isn't very road worthy. There is rot in the front (no surprise) that is causing sag and the skin has started to tear. I've also got rot in the curbside that made using the upper bunks a little scary. I don't want to wake up in the middle of the night with a kid crashing down on me! So, having to quit camping has really made me start pushing to get things fixed. I hope to have more to post on that soon.
I'm not crazy about the new version of proboards, but I'll adjust. It seems like having each foot in a different bucket to be on two boards. But whatever ends up working out for the picture issue etc., I plan on staying 'on board' wherever that ends up being. The shared information and pictures is just too valuable to miss.

i'm hoping that vikx can get her own forum started on another more forgiving forum board than proboards. my hubby and I did some research and they aren't given good marks but that probably goes with the 'free' territory. unfortunately it can be a herculean undertaking to start something new while trying to manage something old (and still have a life) but vikx...WE'LL FOLLOW WHEREVER YOU LEAD US as you're TOO VALUABLE an asset to lose.

I'm appreciative, thanks. I'm going to go with this for a while and caution everyone to save their photos and info. The internet is NOT forever... beings may be deleting us for more interesting content. LOL>

Vikx,
You've done a good job setting up the new Forum, I'm having fun this evening checking everything out. I'm with you, it's probably best to just start over, than try and fix things at VSTF that you didn't have access to.
THANKS, Doug

Hi lamacki1, good to 'see' you here. My progress is only in the planning! I have bought my marmoleum flooring, curtain fabric, ceiling covering, door handle, light sconces, and plenty of decor accessories, but no progress made in the structure of the trailer! I've approached multiple restoration yards, but I got my cash together too late into the spring and everyone had a full shop. Looks like I will be on the wait list for a while! (Plus, I realistically will need more cash than what I have set aside at this point , so I'll keep saving and someone will have space soon! Hope to see photos of your trailers soon and hear more about what you've got going on with them. It's all about the pictures, right?

Hi guys! Had to jump in on this one. I also have a 66 shasta super, one with the trunk. I have posted some of my pics of restoration. Or shall we say "rot removal". Anyhoo, I am on the rebuild, and am willing to share any info folks may need. It's a learn as we go project, but we're nuts enough to complete it.

I have a few pics in this board under 66 shast super. I will most likely post the whole job under the owner restorations post. Its a little closer to completion, hope to have it done by labor day!
