I needed a propane tank for my 59 Shasta, so I've been pricing them. Of course, they have gone way up in $$$. The Walmart here in Minnesota had them in their flyer today for $46.82 (filled). The great thing is that they would give you a $25 gift card with the purchase. They had me with that. For some reason they only charged me $43.82, so with the $25 card for a future purchase, I only paid $18.82. More $$ for fun stuff for the Shasta.

Yes, Bill it is a full tank. If you have a Walmart in your area, check it out. Looks like it might be in all the weekly flyers. I checked a store in California and the ad is the same.

In our area (So. Cal.) Mutual Propane charges $45 for a new steel (no gauge) "filled" tank.
Of interest, due to the new "required" propane safety valves, the new tanks are now only filled to something like 3/4 of their actual capacity. So the lower cost to refill the tank is not really such a deal because you get less for your "fill up".

I am glad I don't live in California, I couldn't afford their prices or restrictions I realize they are needed there but I still wouldn't like it.

Another good place is check the Home Depots for self service. If you have an old tank to put in they said and we tried, that they didn't care if it had the new valve or not. Ours are running 18-19$ exchanged. If your worried about looks, take the lable off and paint it...you still own the tank since you traded one in
