I have to decide right now whether to keep this panel or replace it. Originally, I was going to replace all of the panels in the roof, but you know my dilemma with not being able to find 1/8" panels of any kind, plus I have Ash. This is where " a river ran threw it". It doesn't look that bad from the inside. Need to make a decision today as I am replacing all the edge boards/curbing. and trying to get my roof back on before bad weather. image by susieqilvu, on Flickr

You won't. Go with it, a 50 year old trailer is NEVER going to be perfect!

If it is not rotted to the point that you can put your fingers through it, it should never be a problem. Touching up small parts of the finish is a challenge, but can be done. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Get some 1/8 inch luan or anything and glue it to the top to cover over and reinforce the back side of the paneling. Just put glue all over one side and place it over the bad spot and put a couple of books on it till it dries. Go 6 inches past the bad spots where possible. You may want to put the rest of the slats in first and then cover up the bad spots with 1/8 inch anything. Just to make it more solid and no one's head will go through it.

Well, crap. What a great idea, Mobiltec. But I have the new rafters in and it stapled to them. Doesn't look bad. there is one spot that still has a little buckle in it, and I can't push it up without it wanting to crack. Average person wouldn't notice it. I did add two extra rafters and stapled ceiling it to it. I'll be adding trim. I've never seen my roof not drooping. I didn't know how good it looked!
Worked so hard today, I forgot to eat. Forgot it was my birthday, too. I need a CAKE!

Well the real question is can you live with it if so keep it if not replace it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! let see with a twelve year old that means you must be at least 25. And we will never tell any different.

I am too late to comment but I'd have saved that panel - as you did. Oh, yes, more importantly, Happy Birthday!

Best day here in MONTHS! Yep, still working. Tomorrow the party's over with rain and a cold front. Stopped to take a break and eat some ice cream that my husband bought for me and put in the freezer before he left. Guess he knew I'd find it.
Btw, when you Google "Repairing Jalousie Windows" Mobiltec's video is in the top three.
