Well, this is my first post and I'm hoping someone in my home state of Ohio can help. Last year I bought a 1956(?) 15ft Leisure Home camper off eBay and out of Minnesota. It came with a bill of sale. We could not find a serial number on the tongue at the time to include on the paper work as the tongue had been extended about a foot and a piece of channel welded on either side to accomplish the extension. After I got it home I decided to cut a section of the top of the channel away to expose the original tongue and the serial number. Sure enough, it is there. Now my dilemma, should I try to get a title using the original serial number that is not on the BOS, should I try to get a home build, should I buy a junk trailer and use that title? Also, what am I up against with the dmv, how do I start and finish the process?? I've put tons of work into this thing over the winter and don't want to give it up as not able to title. I'm building this for my daughter in Denver. Is the title process any easier in Colorado? Sure would like some help here.

I would contact the actual clerk of courts in your county in person show pictures of the tongue and the serial number you discovered along with the b o s. they should be able to run the number through the computer for stolen if checks out OK they will most likely issue you a title.
