Thanks Jeff. I actually saw that one or one like it on eBay and that's what sparked my curiosity. I know the bigger Shastas had them. I'll probably just make one when I finally get to the kitchen part of my trailer.

Most of the ones that I have seen in any of them were made to match the formica in the kitchenette. I do not know this for sure, but since the early ones had the birch I doubt that they also had the sink cover. That of course would not prevent you from making one....

From my early memory's my grandparents had a a 1956/57 Shasta 1500 that they bought new and my granddad made a chopping block that fit over the sink that was stepped so the bottom would slip down in the sink to keep it in place.
Theirs didn't have a factory sink cover but then again it wasn't a compact. Danny

We've never seen the ham-style Compact with a sink cover. And we haven't seen a cover in any of the ads. Hamlet certainly didn't have one, but he didn't have several things!

I have some left over formica from making the counter and table tops, I'm going to make a sink cover that drops in roughly flush. I'll let you know how it goes. That's way down the priority list, so it will be a while.
