I'm wondering if it's pink inside... Would be funny to rig up a seed-shooter for when you're towing.

What a terrible thing to do to those Airstreams! There is no "terrible things" that can be done to an Airstream. They already come from the factory with all the "terrible things" built in. Here's my 6 cents worth for this thread. Now don't laugh too hard. Someone in this world is very proud of this little Teardrop type trailer. I found it on Craigs List and the asking price was $2000....

I like Airstreams, I think they look cool, and appreciate their being built with curves. But I don't have any experience with them to judge their quality.

The quality is just fine. Nothing wrong with the workmanship or the materials used. Just don't like the shape. If you ever camp in one you'll see what I mean. Perhaps the newer ones are a little better because they are so wide and a little more boxy than they used to be. But it was like living inside of the Oscar Meyer Weenie Mobile. The curved corners eliminate half the cabinet space and you kinda feel like you're in a tube or a tunnel or something. You just have to experience it to find out what I mean. I just don't like them LOL..

I can tell you one thing about Airstream electrical: the Univolt converter is junk and a it's nightmare to figure out the wiring, especially in 1964. Wonder how I know that???
I liked the Bambi but it has a lot of "issues". The bellies tend to have aluminum rot and it's difficult to mount (or re-attach) things to the aluminum walls. Not a lot of storage in the smaller ones and I hit my head on the door at least 500 times...

I wasn't going to say anything about it until you brought up the electrical. Yep the electrical is a real chalenge in Air Streams. But mine was wired for 110 with aluminum wire. I replaced all but one outlet which was going to be replaced in time but the trailer burned before I got around to it. It was the one behind the refrigerator that started the fire. I have photographs of it after the fire but the internet was not happening yet and neither were digital cameras.

Mr. Larry You could have that puppy fixed right up in no time...LOL LOL... This is one of the many trailers I have found sitting out in the middle of no where. This one is in Panamint Valley just the other side of the border of Death Valley in an old mining camp called "The Gem" in Jail Canyon. It's gone now because some people went up there and did a "clean up" of the place. There is a cabin and a crapper there also and they have been nicely cleaned up but they got rid of the camper which was made of Masonite so it was an oldie for sure. What people did back in the day was drag a trailer up to a mining camp and use it for a place to cook and sleep while building a proper cabin. Then once the cabin was built they moved the appliances like the stove and sink and ice box into the cabin to be used in there and the trailer became a storage shack. This method of operation was repeated in mining areas all over the mountains and deserts. Just about every single old mining cabin I have been in has trailer appliances and parts in it. Below are some photos of the just a few of the insides of mining cabins with trailer parts in them...
