Here, I used pressure treated 2x4's that I ripped to about 2x3, then simply copied the original floor construction. I decided to ditch all of the original floor, due to the asbestos tiles.

Then onto the flooring. I used a product similar to the original, some kind of roofing sheet. Forget the name, but it was at Home Depot. The roofing sheet went down first, then the plywood, which is installed just like the original.

I like your floor it is cool. If you have a tent you can go camping and stay off the ground Seriously it looks like you are off to a good start.

There were plenty of small projects along the way, including refinishing light fixtures, salvaging anything original that would help the camper keep its patina, the book shelf.. The framing for the bathroom.. A wall lamp I ended up running 110 and 12v wiring to all 3 lamp fixtures, and added a few interior 110 outlets along the way

I had once figured out how much money I had tied up in restoring our Shasta, I've lost count now, but I would bet, with the purchase price included, around $6000. One item that was just expensive was a modern 2-way fridge. I should have found an RV salvage yard and found a used one (fridge). I had mentioned on VSTF not to use Home Depot or Lowes plywood. It is very porous, go to a real lumber yard and spend the little bit extra on some good quality 1/8th inch ply.

Flyingham,
I hope you continue this thread...I've been enjoying the journey. Reminds me of my own...but different. Very cool trailer, great craftsmanship.

sorry for the delay!! So, moving right along, I hung the original aluminum sides back on for fitment and to my surprise, they fit. One last look here at the framing for the roof/ceiling structure and onto the template for the front side profile needed for the new roof aluminum ...which leads to these photos, of myself and father in law using a sheet metal shrinker to make the new aluminum make the front bend ...works like this, on the front lower aluminum (new) under the front window, it allows the curvature of the aluminum without kinking it

Wow! I would be a little afraid to bend the sides over like that first. If it's off just a hair you may not get the skin to go on and fold over the sides properly. Seems like you could end up with kinking too when you are trying to run it over the radius'. But I guess it all worked out right? Was there any problems with it during installation?
