I wasn't going to do this, but with a new outlook, and new website, I will regroup and rebuild this thread in its new home! After the "changes" the proboards threw at us, I learned that I should host my own photos, and be responsible for them. That being said I will do an even better job this time and do a detailed frame up build of my '62. Here goes.

So, off to a fresh start, I will build this thread back as fast as possible. The majority of this work was completed between March 16th 2010, and June 11th 2010 (yes, three months). I will explain more as we go along. I purchased it from Dr.Bob in Massachusetts, off of Tin Can Tourists. Probably paid too much, definitely drove too far, but, these things are hard to find in the south, or at least Ive had a hard time finding them. I started off, like so many here, with a thoroughly rotted camper, complete with mouse droppings, mildew, and the such. This was my first (and probably last) camper rebuild, I really enjoyed it, and really enjoy the "finished" product. We are using it as much as possible, and will, until we outgrow it. Here are a few "before" photos

I bookmarked this one! Flyingham, Thank you for doing this again. This was one of the most in depth documented rebuilds we had on that other forum. So much valuable information. We've talked a few times and I think I could ask you questions for days.
Guys and Gals, we have had the priviledge to camp with Flyingham and his family twice and the pictures don't do this thing justice. It's truly amazing, almost overwhelming when you step inside and try to take it all in. Great job! Hope to see yall again around the campfire soon! I still want to go to Turners.

I took a break from posting photos, to get my "other" 62 running around the yard. It runs, I'll get back to posting this week!

Yes! Many thanks for letting us see the "good, the bad, and the ugly"-your worst experience ever may have saved us from the same-- showed it to hubby and we decided to just peel back the skin in front just to "take a look" and before the weekend was over, the lower front and curbside to just past the door was torn off! Not pretty, but we decided to spend the long 4th of July weekend fixing these areas, then camp with a little more confidence for the rest of the summer. The rest we'll wait to do during our (too) long Minnesota winters.

It helps some new members not to be so intimidated at the prospect of restoring their own, especially if they see the, same make, year and model as their`s been restored/fixed/repaired

Basically, you just keep going and going until you get to this part. The entire camper is its OWN TEMPLATE. Everything is to be categorized and stored until the project is complete. A word on storing the skins. HANG THEM UP! Find a place (a wall, or fence or side of a barn) that you can temporarily screw the skins to, to keep them off the ground. They damage very easily, and can make a restoration get really expensive.
