I miss the old banner somehow. It looked like our trailers do when we find them. Like it was wild and raw in it's original state and needed fixing. Can we still use the old banner in the restorations section only? Just wondering.
Sorry, I just thought it would still be cool there. I'll climb back into my hole now, I realize I'm just a visitor here. I'll try not to comment on the looks of this forum any more.
Newer, better, brighter, cleaner is the wave of the future but hey I still have a flip-open cell phone and daily drive only vintage cars. The only waves I ride are with my surfboard when I can. I never text either. I think I was born at least a couple decades too late. LOL

You could change your theme option to what is was before.
I have this one, VTT_Sleek (default) and VTT-Simple.
The VTT-Simple has the aged banner, original icons, original buttons and all black background.
To change themes, go to Profile > Edit Profile > Settings tab, then scroll down to Forum Theme. Choose your theme then scroll down to the bottom and click Save Account Settings button.
ETA: Changed names of the themes.

Part of the problem as new software and faster systems with mega memory are developed and hooked up to higher speed internet, those of us who live in areas that don't offer the high speed connections start to suffer. I was web master for a group for many years and I had the people that wanted killer graphics and all the bells and whistles, but the minute I started to add them I wiped out the people with dail-up in rural areas and many people with slower DSL lines. So I stayed with basic colors and limited graphics with no video except for selectable ones. This allowed more access by everyone. Those of us with multiple processors and mega amounts of ram on a super fast connection have trouble realizing that all parts of the country doesn't have the connections and many people don't have a killer computer.

My PC sure isn't a killer computer. I have a first generation EeePC netbook. Not prehistoric but definitely not performance either.

Oh, I changed the background on the default "VTT_Sleek" theme; going for a more retro look.
