OK - I know nothing about this rally but it's a Tin Can Tourist event and I've copied their posting below. I am *thinking* about going to this one - provided that all the stars align.
Please note that it appears that the fees for two nights of camping are about $55.00 but you also need a park system 'passport' for your car that is a daily fee of $8.50 or an annual pass that is about $30.00.
A whole bunch of years ago on a circle trip around Lake Michigan we visited some of the Michigan state parks and at least, back then, they were beautiful, but very crowded in the summer. I'm thinking that might not be the case this early in June.
I have not registered and I have not contacted the rally host so all the information I have is below unless someone here has gone to this before?
West Michigan Vintage Gathering 2014
Where: Hoffmaster State Park, Muskegon MI
When: June 6-8, 2014
We will be having some fun events planned this year including some live music, a potluck, our open house, and a provided dinner and breakfasts. Our plan this year is to collect a $40 rally registration fee upon arrival to cover expenses. When you show up and register at the camp ground you can pay the fee and receive your credentials and info packet for the weekend. If anyone has any questions or ideas feel free to contact me, and we look forward to seeing you all in the Spring!
Registration process: Site Dates held for: 12/5/13 thru 12/22/13
Site #'s 133 thru 230
Each person must call into the call center (800-447-2757). They need to immediately tell the Call Center that they are participating in the Vintage Camping Weekend at Hoffmaster. They will then be transferred to a specific group of call takers to make their reservations. Please ask everyone to be patient there will be only 2 or 3 specific call takers for this event, not to mention this is all new to CAMIS. The reservation fee has increased this year; it is $10.00 instead of $8.00.
Our new contract has started and each person will have to create a new Profile in the new system. They can do that online which may speed up their call time. The website has pictures of each of the campsites, if anyone wants to take a look. The call center has been asked to add into the comments of the site, that they are participants of the Vintage Camping Weekend. Here is the link if anyone is interested in it. www.midnrreservations.com/
