The hardest trailer to restore is one that has already been "restored"... The first thing you have to do is un-restore it. Then start all over.
Another thing to watch out is a trailer listed as "Already GUTTED and ready for you to make it your dream trailer!" This just means that they gutted it and then realized that they got in over their head and are trying now to re-coop their losses. But in the process they ruined the trailer. If you buy a gutted trailer, make sure it has all the parts, be prepared to do a frame up restore, brace it up so it doesn't fall apart on the way to your house and don't pay more than $200 for it.

Agreed, in a past life I collected bikes, I learned early on, never buy one from a collector who said they worked on it! Same goes for cars, boats and trailers!
