I love your flower, its definitely worth all the work you put in, even if its no perfect. You'll probably be the only one who notices the defects. Thank you!! I hope you're right!

I found your posts yesterday on the '58 Corvette. Love it! I also love the flower on the floor and the tile pattern. I've been brainstorming about doing something different with the floor on my 1956 Honor Built Romer. Your creativity is an inspiration.

We've been working on finishing some more Shellac on birch panels and I've been "touching up" the drawer fronts. I'm satisfied with them and am going to use them as they are. We will need to make two cupboard doors to match as best we can. Working on how to clean the knobs, not sure what they are made of. I used the french polish method on the first 5 birch panels I did. I liked it but it was very time consuming. When I finished up the rest I used a paint brush. The brushed panels resulted in a thicker coat making them darker. I also finished my kitchen cabinet with a brush. It's noticeable but I think that if i try to darken the lighter ones, I'll just end up with a third color. 0320172244a (1) by Corvett crzy, on Flickr 0320172244b by Corvett crzy, on Flickr 0320172245 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr

Looking mighty fine. The wood work looks real nice. The gimping makes it all shine right out.

wow, awesome job there. Did you investigate the trailer hitch? Older trailers like that have smaller ball adapters, you might have to weld on a new one with the more modern size. Should be a no brainer for you though.

@66airstream We had extra ball sizes, but the little thingy was unmoveable. We ended up having to cut it off and have a new one welded on.

Jim has been working on a plan to reduce the likelihood of the roof sagging and this is what it evolved to. We got 1/8" x 3/4" steel and he sandwiched them between a roof support that he split. Glued them, cut outs for wiring and then put bolts through all 3 pieces. Here's how it turned out, 3 more to make. 2017-04-13_11-01-47 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr 2017-04-13_11-00-59 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr 2017-04-13_11-00-04 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr Hopefully install will be tomorrow.

Jim has decided that the flat piece of steel is still too flexible. Picked up some angle "iron" today. He decided to use the flat on the upper and lower supports of the front window because he said they were bowing out. Should have picks of the new design tomorrow.

Front window frame with steel supports. 0423172115 by Corvett crzy, on Flickr 0423172115a by Corvett crzy, on Flickr He was concerned that the frame was bowing out. Since he had decided to go with angle iron instead on the roof he used the flat stock on the window framing. It helped but there was still a very slight bow.
