I just read in an old manual I found on here that self-contained Shastas had a pressurized water tank that allowed you to have water pressure when boondocking. As you used the water and the pressure decreased, you could use a bike pump to add more pressure. Well, it looks like the camper I just bought has one of these. See the external valve here: s27.postimg.org/fih9sd2sz/IMAG0961.jpgThis is an awesome discovery because I will be solely boondocking and it's great to know I won't have to install my own manual pump. But I need to figure out how to properly use it. Has anyone here used one of these before? Is this where I fill the tank with water? Anything else I should know? Any info you have is a huge help. Thanks!

Thanks Vikx, good material here. Can't wait to get a closer look and learn more about it. Hopefully it will be in good shape and I'll be able to use it without much work.

The problems will be in the copper water lines and the gaskets. The copper will split in weird places and you can't see them until they leak... air lines are normally OK.
