I’ve used .024 and wasn’t happy. The heavier skin withstood dinks and dents much better and was worth the extra cost.

By the way, when I got under the j channel the original color looked like a beautiful emerald green anodizing. I don’t know if folks were anodizing the siding or if it was just a green tinted clear coat but I bet it was stunning off the lot! Anodizing was a thing for a while. You generally see it on the bands going down the waist of the trailer and was gold. You had conjectured that the lower front skin was a replacement. This picture below of Idaho211 shows that it's most likely original as I see the same skin pattern on his trailer as well.  Cheers, Rod |

When I took the side skins off I could tell the original was a slate blue. Now its underneath a paint brush light blue paint.

Ohio,
The rot was in the same place as mine. Front corner flooring, half the entry way flooring by the dinette with that darn carriage bolt half under the dinette seat frame. I had found rear driver bathroom rot from a broken copper pipe which was repaired with some hose and a couple clamps. The plywood curbing will mostly be replaced due to rot. Do you have a pic of the emerald green color?

Also a reminder that I need to rebuild the front window gravel guard/awning. My trailer still has the hurricane hinge, but the rest of the guard is gone (and oif course a cracked window as a result). I'll probably make my best approximation with off the shelf aluminum parts and cabinet struts. |

Do you have a pic of the emerald green color? I didn't intentionally take any shots of it, but this is what I got from zooming in on a few pics where it was exposed. I n oticed RV Parts nation has the Deluxe Mesa 4" siding in 0.30" in a dark metallic green, and I'm betting that's pretty close to my original color on the lower sections. Haven't peeked under the upper sections yet to find out what was there.    |
