Good Afternoon All...
I was hoping to get some assistance determining the value of an unrestored 1952 Fleetwood Sporter. My Father recently passed, and this camper was part of his collection. If anyone could offer me some insight into the value of this camper that would be greatly appreciated. I could send them pictures of the interior and exterior. It has always been stored in our pole barn and I feel that it is pretty solid and in decent condition. We are located in upstate NY. I don't think that I will have the room to hang onto this project and would likely be looking to sell in the future and any information regarding value would be a huge help.
Thank you for your Time!

Please post some photos. Do you have the title? How big is it? Any mouse damage? Water or other damage?
It's almost impossible for us to help without more information. It certainly sounds like a collectible trailer.

All seems solid and no visible mouse damage. Thank you.

Hello and welcome,
The best thing about this trailer is that it's cute and it's got the original appliances and cushions.
The value is in the beholder. To the untrained eye, it looks like a cute trailer and functional which it probably is.
However, to the trained eye, I see some issues. The dark paneling fore and aft below the belt line was added at some time in its history. That's not original and was probably added to hide water damage from leaks. I see warped paneling u top above the streetside dinette. The door has a sag in it probably due to water damage.
The interior is painted which seems a bit odd to me, but maybe that's original can't tell from the photos. People find an easy way to hid water damage in these trailers by painting the interior. I am going to guess, the floor is covered with carpeting because the floor tiles are curling.
I see a little front wall sag as the front wall is resting on the frame, but it's mild. The exterior has been painted including the drip rails above the windows, that's going to lower the value. Then on the front and rear window there are bolts running through the window frame which concerns me as those would be a huge leak once/if removed. It makes me wonder why it was done in the first place. The front window probably opens, but since it's bolted shut, that trailer would be hot inside in no time. Replacement parts for those windows would be hard to come by.
The trailer as it sits appears serviceable. For an uneducated John Q. Public, it will garner a higher price than by one of us on the forum.
I will let others post their impressions and estimates of value. It does matter where the trailer is located. For example California coastal prices can fetch more than in the middle of Iowa.
Cheers,
Rod

Let me first say how sorry I am about loosing your dad.
It is a camper that would be worth saving and taking it back to some original state. Teachndad brings up all the right things. It looks like it is in New York. I don't know about how the frame and floors are and that can make and break a price. Also if you have a clean title.
To me it looks like a candidate for frame off restoration, and that means spending 4 to 6+ grand in redoing it right and it could be more if the frame is bad. Windows would be a concern as well.
To someone with the idea of restoring it they would be looking at 500 to a 1000 and with a title. If you want to try and sell it to someone to use right now you maybe able to ask 4000 to 6000 but again that person would be untrained in this type of projects.
I guess you have to ask another question what would your Dad have wanted to happen to this camper? You are in a hard spot because you most likely need to maximize the estate but you also want to do what your Dad would have wanted.
Me I saved a family camper that we had on a property for 50 years so I get it. Good luck and I am sure others will chime in and tell you I am crazy but what the heck this is my humble opinion.

I agree with teachndad, it has a lot of flaws and needs a lot of work. If you were to sell it to someone who wanted to take on a project to get it roadworthy then I would say max $2000. Maybe $2500 if someone was gonna patch it up and make it water tight for the backyard.

I agree, it is definitely a nice project. The appliances seem to be in good condition and original items are present.
That said, it looks like a lot of work necessary to make this roadworthy. If I were buying it, I would probably be at about $500 with a title.
Also be sure to offer it AS IS, and get the buyer to sign to that. You could be liable if something would happen after pick up.

Welcome!
I agree with everything written above. Having restored several campers, I can assure you that this is a full restoration…but worth doing. With a transferable title and all the pieces (plus it’s ham shaped) I think you’ll get around $1000. Maybe $1500+ from somebody with little knowledge of the work required to make it road worthy again.
I like it and hope somebody willing to do the work buys it.
