I aquired a Shasta Compact (V-10986) from a buddy in Pennsylvania. It was left on his hunting camp by his cousin. The cousin signed over the Pa titlle. I took possesion of the camper and the title and took it back to NJ. I did everything that NJ required for getting a title in my name (and 2 different agency employees commended me for doing my homework). I thought everything was a go until the woman at the counter told me that Pa messed up and left the "YEAR" blank on the title. Now she tells me I have to go back to Pa and have them correct the title before I can get a NJ title. I'm afraid Pa is going to tell me they have no way to verify the year. The bill of sale from the seller said 1962, the kitchen sink has 1962 printed on it, and everything I have read points to 1962. Is there any way to prove or certify what year the camper is? Does anyone have any tips for me to get a legitimate title? Pa would not issue a title to me because I didn't have a Pa driver's license. They told me to go to my home state. NJ IS A JOKE. Any advice would be appreciated. ![]() insert code here

According to the Shasta Database, your Compact was made in 1962 at the Goshen, Indiana plant #2. The plant began operation in 1958.
I would try a different DMV office. Think quiet small town. That works in NC.

Agreed, I’m in the state of WA and went to a different DMV outside of Seattle and no problem!

Thanks! I'm going to try a different agency and see before I trek back to Pa. NJ is really tough though!
