The front window in the Holiday House is one of the ones below. Completely rebuilt with new seals which means it leaked like a sieve if you towed in the rain the day it left the factory - but that's another story. It only leaks around the "opening windows" while I'm towing in the rain - even a light rain - I think the air pressure just pushes the water past the already sketchy "seals" the gaskets create. My attempts to stop the leaking have failed... has anyone come up with a clever solution to keep the water out? Thanks!!

Make a cover out of marine vinyl (they can snap in place if you replace the window screws) Another option would be a lifting window cover which also acts as a sunshade.

Thanks vikx. I should have mentioned that was one of my attempts that failed (marine vinyl) ... just gave up on it this afternoon after quite a bit of time/$ and effort. Before I move onto another approach I was curious if anyone had figured out a way that worked.

I’ve had the same experience with several versions of Hehr front windows without finding solutions. Hopefully you’ll find an answer.

OK... I stopped my pouting long enough to put on my big boy pants and give it another try with the marine vinyl. The really nice hemmed version with felt backing the seamstress made was slightly off size and broke the fasteners I was using after I stretched things to fit. I used the leftover vinyl with no hems or backing and it looks like it might work but it looks like crap. Using mostly marine snaps and the rest are Loxx "Pull It Up" fasteners that hopefully will not come loose in the wind.
If it doesn't blow off it should stop the leak and also keep rocks from hitting the glass. Weather allowing we're getting ready for a couple thousand miles of towing so I'm a bit nervous with the nasty weather out west recently. Keeping a close eye on the weather reports!

If you can, slip a piece of cardboard or styrofoam behind the vinyl. Good padding.

Our big trip happened without the HH back in March due to super nasty weather so our 200ish mile tow to the All American Rally near Salem Oregon was the first test of the vinyl snap cover for the big front window. There was no rain in the forecast so this trip it acted as a rock guard. I was paranoid and kept an eye in the rear view the whole way thinking it would blow off or start flapping and break the window it was meant to protect (can you tell I'm a positive thinker ;-) - but lo and behold it stayed on and all was well. We'll see how it behaves in strong crosswinds but for the time being I'm calling it a success. Might be a good solution worth trying for others...
