So, I have gotten a crash course in Holiday Ramblers Lately
I have a deposit down on a 1972 Holiday Rambler Vacationer
I have read that aluminum frame was an option.
I see in the pics sent to me that the fender flairs on held on by rivets .
Looks like there are also SOMETHING holding on the siding thought-out. Looks factory but can not see in video or pics if rivets or screws. However from what I have seen, screws are not nomraly though the skin from factory. This leads me to believe that this unit is aluminum frame since it has penetration though the skin....
thoughts?

The only way to know for sure is to take it apart. Years ago, I had a 72 Holiday Rambler, but never worked on it.
Siding is often installed from the top and stapled at the bottom lip. The next piece of skin is slipped up and into the lip. Because this trailer has trim pieces at each seam, they would have to be removed to see what's underneath.
As far as aluminum framing, it's very hard to tell from one picture. If it has aluminum propane tanks, it could very well have alum.framing. Not all HRs did. Also, I'm seeing screws around the water heater and wheel wells? Even trailers with aluminum framing have wood backers to screw various appliances, vents, etc.

Welcome!
I’ve never seen a HR with aluminum framing. If you take it apart it would be great if you would post photo.

Welcome! I’ve never seen a HR with aluminum framing. If you take it apart it would be great if you would post photo. I sure will.
From my reading the Park Models, and Ramblers had aluminum framing. Also SOME of the Travelers
Here is a photo (not mine) of the aluminum framing from another camper similar to the one I am looking at. You can see in the ceiling the aluminum roof trusses. Just using this as an example.
I plan on doing an intense assessment of the camper I am buying once home. If it does not need structural work, going to resist taking anything apart I can avoid . From what I have been told it has been sitting in storage for close to 30 years. There was one wall worth of paneling replaced. Chances are I will take that off to investigate. I plan on doing a log of the project on here. I know that 1972 is not as Vintage as this group likes.... but I have fallen in love with the rambler's style. I am excited to get my hands on this time capsule, and restore and update it. Don't worry the updates i refer to are like the potable water tank, water pump things like that. .....
