Is it ok to jack up a 1956 Honorbuilt Trailer on the frame near the wheel?

Hi and Welcome,
Make sure your jack placement is aft of the wheel.
Is there any water damage at the bottom of the walls that you can see?
Will you be mounting new tires?
Cheers,
Rod

Techndad thanks for the reply. After watching the trailer get seriously out of balance after jacking it up with the jack in front of the wheel, I figured it out and moved the jack.
There is some wrinkling of the metal at the front of the trailer just above the hitch so I figure there must be a good amount of rot there, probably all the way up to the front window. Unfortunately the previous owner(s) pretty much gutted the inside except for the original stove which is still in place. They then skinned the interior with mahogany door skins and 1 x 3 battens over the seams. Tons of goop on the outside mostly around the J-metal (Sp?). Anyway, I have lots of work ahead.
I've rebuilt the exterior of two small Toyota mini motorhomes that I owned and the construction of the motorhomes seems to be similar to this little trailer. I guess I haven't learned my lesson from those jobs since I went ahead and bought this project...

I think you will have more fun with this project than the Toyota mini motor homes. Look at what you are saving. We would all love to see some pix. Link here Thanks for stepping up to save another one from the Rot Monster. BTW, I just posted about an Honorbuilt article in Mechanix Illustrated. Maybe that will help with your restoration. Cheers, Rod
