I have a 48 Boles Aero 12' trailer. I and am looking for a replacement tire. The original tire is a 6.50-16LT. This tire fits well in my wheel well. The new tires are all 8" wide and won't fit between the fender skirt and the bearing cap of the hub. Anyone have and solve this problem? The original rims are 16x6. I tried 15x5", but, the tire is still 8" wide at the tread. Please help me with any information you could give me. Thank you very much, Neal

Hmmm - I'm not a tire expert but I fought and won the battle of getting my new tires into a crazy tight rebuilt wheel well...
An ST175... trailer tire is 6.97" wide at the tread and I bet you could make it work but they may be too small in diameter at the rim. If you take one of your existing tires to a tire store I bet they will find something for you that will fit.
And... If you remove the inner valve stem on the tire and completely deflate it you will likely be able to get a tire to fit. Mine required deflating and major contortions but finally slipped over the bearing cap. Hard to explain - but if you roll/spin the tire while trying to get it into the wheel well it will ride up over the hub and get where it needs to be.
Good luck

Sometimes deflating works, but when re-inflated... there may not be sufficient clearance, which can be problematic. The tire can rub on the wheel well when going over bumps in the road, etc. Bad for the tire and for the trailer. Best to try and duplicate whatever tire size was original if you are able.

Deflating does help and try bias tires. They are narrower than radius.
