I'm looking at putting in a water tank in my 57 Pathfinder. It originally had one but it is long gone. Wondering if someone has a link to a 12 volt pump that they used and have had good luck with? I don't know how many variations there are or if some are quieter than others etc. I am looking at a tank size of probably no larger than 10-12 gallons. Thanks

A small one fixture pump should work. They are not quiet but you don't need a huge pump for such a small tank.
The tank will need to be vented to use a 12 volt pump. Also, research an ABS tank. 8 x 16 x 18 is the 9 gallon size. ABS tanks are usually 8 x 16 x length up to about 72".
Do a search on ebay for "12 volt water self priming pump". They start around 18 bucks and go up. The difference on the cheap ones is that the components are not rated for potable water. You wouldn't want to drink out of a tank anyway... Sometimes these little pumps are listed as Ag pumps.

I have one of the Class A Customs 10 gallon tanks (purchased on Amazon without the kit) and it has been fine for over a year and 5,000 miles of bumpy towing. Don't know about their pumps though. This pump comes well rated and has worked well for me... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P8BE6S8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1After individually sourcing the tank, pump and fittings you'll likely be in the cost range of what their kit costs but I'd be more comfortable with a branded pump with a good reputation - don't know who supplies theirs... Good luck!

My camper also has the curbside water hookup that connects to a garden hose type connection. I guess I would still like to be able to use that connection also so in order to do that is there anything different required when it comes to the water pump?

If I were you I'd get on YouTube and start watching videos - there are likely dozens that will walk you through the process and they're super helpful.
You can still use your city water hookup after adding the tank and 12 volt pump (nothing unique or different needed for pump). You need to put a one way check valve in the line on the pressure side a foot or so after the pump. That way the pressurized water coming in from the city water connection won't flow back into your tank and make it overflow. The pump also likely has an internal one way check valve but most people like the safety of adding another.
Pex pipe is easy to work with and highly recommended.

A couple of short comments: With only 10 or 20 gallons of water in a small trailer, an electric pump will deplete the supply of water very quickly. A hand or foot operated pump uses no battery power and delivers a much lower volume per use.
Having experience living full time aboard a boat for many years, I could tell you awful stories about city water hook-ups that have failed. If you are not there when a fitting fails, etc....the interior of the camper will be full of water in no time. At least trailers don't sink, boats do!
I like to remind folks that these tiny old trailers were built for camping, which means going without all of the comforts of home. My choice is to keep it simple and keep it safe. Less is more.

Yeah I'm pretty stingy on water use so hopefully an electric pump won't go through it too quickly. I have a camper on our land and all we use up there is a 7gal aquatainer jug turned on its side over the sink and that'll last us three weekends easy.

I am about to install my new water system in my 1955 Aljoa. I mounted two class a custom 15gal tanks underneath (fresh and gray) and am using the small RecPro electric pump mounted with switch. I will have city and fill hookups at the original location and am keeping the hand pump functional. I figure I will only turn the pump on by switch if I need to fill a pot otherwise use the hand pump.
