Any help and/or advice greatly appreciated. I’m working on a 1969 Airstream Caravel. I just need the marker lights, brake lights, and left and right turn signals to work using a 4-pin flat connecter. On the left side there is a red wire which I have matched up to the left turn Signal. Also on the left there are two green wires which I have matched to the marker lights. Also on the left is a black wire which I have matched to the backup light. Since I am only concerned with a 4-pin flat connecter I’m assuming I will not use this wire. On the right side I have two black wires which are matched to the backup light so, again, I will not use them. Also on the right are two green wires which I have matched to the marker lights. There is a brown wire on the right which I have matched to the right turn signal. Also on the right side is a red wire that is a loop. It is the same red wire that’s on the left side. In other words, if I pull the red wire on the left it pulls the loop out of the red wire on the right. On the front of the trailer there is a 10 gauge white wire which I have grounded to the frame and then continued to connect to the white wire coming from the tow vehicle. When I connect a bulb (1157?) to the turn signal wires on either side they work, although it seems not too bright. When I apply brakes the brake side of the bulb does not light. The bulbs have a red lead and a white lead. I’ve tried connecting one lead to the marker lights using a pigtail and the other lead to the turn/stop wire but that doesn’t work and I reversed them and that doesn’t work. It seems like I must be missing a wire on each side. I’ve watched a lot of video and read blogs but this is my third day and I just can’t figure it out. Thanks for any suggestions that will help me troubleshoot.

I'm having a little trouble following your explanation. Must be the end of the day. You need a chart showing exactly which wire goes where. vikx is a the author and unfortunately I can't find it. Hopefully vikx will chime in.

Hopefully vikx will chime in. Thank you very much. I’ll recheck the wires which I matched to function not color. Someone in another forum suggested that the TV might be splitting the turn and stop signal. If that’s the case then I need an adaptor. I’m trying to determine if this is my solution. Thank you for your help and please let me know if you have any other ideas. Also, I’m sorry I didn’t make myself clear in the post. Let me know if you have a specific question and I’ll try to make it more clear.

Here I am...
You have done good work so far. Just FYI, Airstreams are not the same as other trailers. Many have a plug-in tow connector with Airstream coding. When plugged into the vehicle, it works as a regular 7 way connector. In other words, the wires "might" be different at the trailer.
The color coding and testing you have done seems to be according to today's modern RV 7 way code. (red for left turn, green for running lights and brown for right turn) Do not use color to connect the 4 way plug!! It is not the same as a 7 way. Whites are ground.
Connect 4 way white to the trailer white. Connect 4 way brown to the trailer GREEN Connect 4 way green to the trailer BROWN Connect 4 way yellow to the trailer RED
I have vintage and factory wired vehicles so have not had to worry about the brake/stop light issue but have read a bit about the adapters. Research your particular vehicle and year for info on that.
Don't worry about the red loop. The black wires are all backup, which you won't use. Tape any bare ends just because.
Try the above and get back to us. I really enjoy helping folks with wiring.

I have owned and worked on Airstreams. I recommend pappysnap go to airforums and look up his trailer by year and model. There are owners that will help with wiring. The airstreams have wiring different from other trailers. Ask me how I know this.
