That is to protect the awning from the top corner of the door. As you open the door the roller holds the awning up so the top corner does not rip it.
The side mount thingy is to hold the back wall of the awning to the side of the trailer so it's not just flapping in the wind.

Need a better photo. It could be a mount for a small awning strut for the window. But it would be on both sides. The photo is too grainy to tell.
