I’m a little confused here. I just put down three coats of Amber shellac and it been drying for three days now, I have to say I love the color. But I’m really confused on the next step. Is it safe and a good idea to use the same Zinsser brand clear and add two more coats or should I leave it alone. Thanks VTT Old wood sanded clean, 4 coats clear with two coats of clear Compact-Kitchen
New and old wood mixed, 4 coats amber 2 clear 1500 Finished

I don't think there is any right answer regarding the application of clear shellac. After 3-4 coats of the amber my panels had a nice amber glow with a pretty good shine to them without any clear. If you want to go super shiny then definitely add the clear - up to you :-)

I’ve done some campers that look great with a single coat of clear shellac. On this camper I used bamboo oil an two coat of spar varnish on old wood and it looked great and was very durable Forester-After Penofin
