I’m having trouble finding the small square catch that when you open the windows the lever hooks onto.
The lever goes thru the upright support and this small catch is mounted on the upright and the lever goes through it.

Hi Jim, I am confused by your description of a "small square catch". Do you have a picture? The word, square is throwing me off. In this thread near the bottom, vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/11620/small-hehr-window-shasta-airflyte is a picture of a Hehr push out window. I assume this is the type of window you are referring to. Down the center is a back frame support and then there is a small shiny piece of metal in the middle with a slot cut into it. Is this small piece with the slit what you are referring to? Rod

Hi Jim, Here is a picture, though distant, you can see how this little clip fits over the screen material. The tabs are folded over once inserted in two holes. Click on the photo and once in the album click again to enlarge. Note also on the double frame that the clip is reversed from the one above it. front duel pane assembly Here is a picture of that piece alone. I will upload a better one when I get a chance.
And here it is upside down. Here you can see the two tabs on either end. Those go through two holes in the back frame support and would be folded down once inserted. In this photo, the middle opening has been rounded out from typical use. You get the idea.
The distance between the fold over tabs is 1 ¾” as seen below. Height of the tabs is 3/16” The aluminum clip as pictured above is meant to pinch the screen material up against the front of the back frame support. Then the window arm can go through the slot in the back frame support without getting caught on the screening material. There is also a steel plate that fits on the back of the back frame support that is spring activated. It looks like this. My windows are in storage and I have not seen them up close in over a year, but you may be able to operate the window arm as it goes through the back frame support without the steel plate if it’s lost. Maybe someone else can comment on this. These parts are not commercially available, I believe, but you could make this aluminum clip for the front of the back frame support yourself with some ingenuity and a small sheet of aluminum. The thickness is almost that of piece of bowtie pasta. How's that for a thickness gauge, LOL? I was eating some last night coincidentally and the thickness was about the same. Despite that I don’t have my windows are in storage, I happened to have several of these pieces here with me at my house that I have not added back to my window restoral, yet. This allowed me to take photos of them. Comments from others are encouraged. Rod

Thanks Rod
That’s exactly the piece I’m referring too.
Unfortunately one of them tab’s broke off as we were taking the frame apart.
On a good side I picked up an older Toro bandsaw for free on the way home from work the other day that works great.
Should make making one of these clips easier now.
