Well, I'm into it now. I already had a ton of house and yard projects, now I'm adding in a trailer restoration. But if it gets the family out camping more, it will be totally worth it!
Anyway, I do a bit of 3D photogrammetric modeling, so I'm going to show off my project in a slightly unusual way. First, if you have some red/blue 3D glasses, the 'photo' below will really pop! (red goes over left eye)
There are numerous things to do on this trailer, of course. In addition to lifting the skins and replacing any rotted wood, here are a couple particulars I am contemplating:
- Almost everything appears to be original. There are only a few spots of visible water damage on the inside; main one is by the AC on top. Floor seems very solid, though I noticed one or two spots that have a slight squeek (but not squishy), so I'm hopeful that the rot in the structure will be minimal. We will see...
- I'd like to remove as much as I can from the roof both for aerodynamics and for water resistance. I'm thinking I'll replace the AC with a vent/fan, then put a window-style AC under the Goucho Bed where it could blow across our feet. I've seen a few posts with similar setups and would welcome thoughts on this.
- I think some of the other stuff on top is from the propane fridge? I'll probably replace the fridge with an electrical one. I'm thinking purely electric rather than 3-way. Are there some styles that include an icebox capability with a tray to hold the ice?
Thanks for any thoughts! Have a great day!

That’s similar to my 65 I had. The window ac is fine under the bed. Put a small fan under the table and aim it up to circulate the air. It worked fine for me.

I've been working my butt off, but there was no way I'd get the skin back on before this storm arrived. My tarp is a bit torn, but I've added a sheet of thick plastic underneath, then covered with a couple camping tarps that keep water from getting to much of the tarp. Stayed dry even during down pours. Also used a pop-up to continue working on insulation so the skins can get back on soon.

I laughed when I read this...
"Well, I'm into it now."
I can relate.

Very nicely done! That shade of green suits the trailer perfectly.
