On my 59 Deville wondering what to do with assorted metal trim parts. Cleaned up and polished the original tailights, they are the flush mount not the recessed. Metal actually looks pretty good but wondering about bare metal and rust. The license plate holder/light will probably need paint to look clean so wondering whether to rattle can the tail lights and license plate holder with some hammered finish Rustoleum. Not sure what was done from factory. Also interior door latch will need paint to look right so should everything match ?

I have often used Rusto hammered silver on older metal that won't polish. It looks like aluminum and sticks well. Re-chroming is very expensive; paint can be touched up...

I’ve repainted rough chrome or exposed metal and my experience with chrome paint is hit and miss. You need to experiment.
